Healthy donut recipe in Brookfield WI.


Ingredients in Brookfield WI

  • 1 1/4 cup blanched almond flour
  • 1/4 t baking soda
  • 2 T coconut oil
  • 3 T pure maple syrup
  • 1 t apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 t almond extract
  • 1/2 t vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs, at room temperature, whites and yolks separated
  • coconut oil for greasing pan

Directions

    1. .Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Grease pan with coconut oil.
    3. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. Combine wet ingredients in a separate bowl except egg whites and mix.
    4. Mix wet and dry ingredients together.
    5. Beat the egg whites until frothy and fold into mixture.
    6. Add the batter to the donut molds smoothing out the top.
    7. Bake for 15 minutes.
    8. Let donuts cool before removing from pan then frost as desired.

Topping Ideas

Melt coconut oil. Brush on top of donut then immediately sprinkle with coconut flakes.

Chocolate Frosting:

  • 2 T melted coconut oil
  • 1 T cacao powder
  • 2 T maple syrup
